On their profile, he mentions that his mother was adopted and that he wanted health related information. When I looked at the mitochondrial DNA, I realized it could only have come from my mom's side of the family. The long and the short is that this guy's mother was my half-sister. The thing is that both my mom and my sister had both passed years before. My mom obviously thought she had taken her secret to the grave.

I wonder what really happened to that child, and I feel desperately sorry for the children who were left alive as well, especially the five year old who had the carry the burden of apparently opening the door, probably for the rest of his life. This happened to my grand-uncle, who was riding a bike with his little brother on the handle-bars when they were both children. His brother fell off and was killed, and I am sure that the weight of that never left him.
